Nursing Care Services

Being well cared for
As you grow older, you may not always enjoy the good health that you have wished for. However, if you are no longer able to live without nursing care, there are various solutions available.

Care by your family

If you have the possibility to be looked after by members of your family, you normally conclude a service agreement with your relatives. This document((Wo befindet es sich? Falls vorhanden, direkt darauf verlinken)) specifies what duties your caretakers take on and what you pay them for this.

Nursing and domiciliary care (Spitex)

Nursing and domiciliary care services can be divided into non-profit and commercial businesses. Their aim is to allow people who need support and nursing care to enjoy as much independence as possible. For this reason, they offer support at home. The services offered range from domestic support to nursing, healthcare and social assistance. Some non-profit-making nursing and domiciliary care services are undertaken by health insurance companies.

Day care

This is another form of support, which allows you to spend more time in the familiar surroundings of your home or family. During the day, you are looked after by qualified staff in a day-care centre and can benefit from a wide range of activities and treatments. However, you are looked after by the members of your family in the evenings and at weekends. You pay a daily flat-rate amount for the services. Enquire about rates at the day-care centres in your town or canton.

Residential nursing groups

Residential nursing groups provide individual living, a good mix of community and privacy apart from the round-the-clock nursing support. You share a house with other (active) senior citizens under the supervision of the nursing staff. This open approach to living ensures that the needs of the members of the group are taken care of and the independence of the individual is supported optimally.

Nursing centre

Nursing centres offer accommodation on an inpatient basis. Patients in need of intensive care, nursing and medical treatment stay there in shared or private rooms depending on what they can afford. Efforts are made to ensure that residents get to enjoy the best quality of life possible with a wide range of entertainment such as recitals, concerts or days out. You pay a daily flat-rate amount for this – enquire about rates at the nursing centres in your town or canton.
