Many of those who previously used Traveler’s Checks now use Travel Cash card. Swiss Bankers issue this prepaid card for travelers. The Travel Cash card allows you to withdraw money from all ATMs which accept the Maestro card and parents can, for example, transfer additional money into their children's card account at any time.

You can load it up with euros, US dollars or Swiss francs and use it in more than a million ATMs worldwide to withdraw money in local currency or to pay in more than 10 million stores. Each cash withdrawal costs you CHF 5, or around 3 euros / US dollar. If you use the card for purchases, you'll be charged a fee of CHF 1.50 or 1 euros / US dollar. If your card is lost or stolen, it will be replaced free of charge along with your remaining credit. The Travel Cash card is also protected by a PIN code, which makes it safer.
 
You can load more credit onto your card at the same place where you bought it. In Switzerland you can buy the Travel Cash card at Swiss Railways, PostFinance, Credit Suisse, Migros Bank, Bank Coop, GE Money Bank and at many cantonal and regional banks.
